Jim Norton (President)
Jim Norton is a retired media sales executive, and after living in many major markets of the U.S., retired from Time-Warner after fifteen years. He and his wife Linda have three children and five grand children. He moved from Austin, Texas to Bend in 2001. A Wisconsin native, he is an avid Packer Backer and a Board member since October 2003, representing First Presbyterian Church of Bend.
Ted Frostenson (Vice President )
Ted Frostenson is retired after forty years with Kaiser Aluminum spending the final eleven years of his career as a VP & CEO of the Volta Aluminum Company in Ghana, West Africa. He and his wife Marian moved to Bend in 1996, and has been a Board member since November 2003, representing First Baptist Church of Bend.
Carol Smalley (Secretary/Treasurer)
Carol Smalley completed a Master’s degree and then moved to Tokyo, Japan to teach English at a women’s university for five years. Returning to the States, she worked with sponsors of refugees around the country helping the sponsors set up ESL programs. Diverging a bit from education, but still training volunteers, Carol became the director of a 24 hour crises intervention hot line, Contact 609, in Cherry Hill, NJ. She left that position to become the director of Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers in Moorestown, NJ. The five years before retirement Carol was an adjunct Instructor of English at Gloucester County College, Sewell, NJ. She has been on the Board since January 2007.
Larry Kogovsek (Member)
Larry Kogovsek is a native of Pueblo, Colorado. After graduating from Regis College he managed Mr. Gary Hart’s Denver election campaign to the U. S. senate. His career in both the private and corporate restaurant industry continues today, and he also is very active as a caregiver, including directing the efforts of the Family Kitchen at Trinity Episcopal Church. An IVC volunteer since 2004, he joined the IVC Board in May, 2006.
Steve Austin (Member)
Steve is a graduate of PSU with a degree in Business. He worked with the FMC Corporation for 32 years in various locations and has served on several Boards that include: Erath County, Texas United Way and the Yamhill County, Oregon United Way.
Art Samson (Member)
Art is a former airline pilot and is currently a member of the aviation advisory board at Westminster College in Salt Lake City. He is also a professional writer, leadership trainer and as an entrepreneur has also engaged in policy formulation and planning.
